Join us for an afternoon filled with fun, exceptional food and stories from our 120 year old fish-story.

Smoked salmon is serious business at H. Forman & Son, the East End’s last original smokehouse, founded by Harry Forman in Stepney in 1905 and run today by his great-grandson Lance Forman on Fish Island in Hackney Wick.  Enjoy a unique tour including a guided salmon tasting at our famous smokehouse.

The day begins with a talk by Lance Forman on the history of H. Forman & Son which goes back over a hundred years. Following on from this you will kit up in protective clothing (this makes a great photo opportunity) to descend into Forman’s famous London smokehouse. Here we will show you the process of producing the world’s finest smoked Scottish salmon including a carving demonstration on the factory floor by our Guinness World Record Holder Darren Matson, who beat Gordon Ramsay to the record. At the end of the tour, take your seat in Forman’s Restaurant, where you will revel in our smoked salmon tasting platter which includes a variety of our most popular smoked and cured salmon.
