Food that makes you happy! #InternationalDayOfHappiness
Today is the #InternationalDayOfHappiness and if there’s one thing that gets us smiling, it’s those indulgent foodie treats! Here’s our pick of food that makes us happy:
Melt-in-the Mouth British Pork Pies
Who can resist the humble pork pie? A proper British pork pie is a thing of beauty; pork preserved in jelly encased in a golden, buttery hot water pastry casing. We’re particularly partial to Mrs King’s Melton Mowbray Pork Pies.
Intensely Indulgent Cheese Selection
There’s nothing better than a superb cheese board! Our cheese selection arrives in a beautiful wicker cheese box – unwrapping each cheese is simply delightful. The nutty, flinty Montgomery’s Cheddar, the oozing, creaminess of the Tunworth, the rich, tangy flavour of the Cropwell Bishop Stilton…. delicious! The Driftwood goats’s cheese is also worth a mention for its silky smooth texture and mild citrus flavours and, finally, the No.5 Goddess is as glamorous as its name would suggest: a delectable semi-soft cheese made with rich Guernsey cows’ milk.
Parisien Petit Fours
These little cakes are so pretty, they sparkle like jewels! It’s no wonder that they’ve been prepared by one of the country’s finest patisserie chefs, Michael Nadell. With 16 pieces to choose from, it’s hard to pick your favourite, so why not try them all? Enjoy with a refreshing glass of Somerset Cider Brandy.
Really Refreshing Gazpacho
Simplicity is the key to happiness with this summer soup; some say that this is the best gazpacho they’ve ever tasted! Made with ripe, flavoursome heritage tomatoes and a few ciabatta crumbs for body, you’re free to add a garnish of your choice and serve icy cold. We recommend a splash of single cream.
Smoked Salmon & Cream Creese Brick Lane Bagels
These genuine Brick Lane bagels look lovely and taste even better – another example of simplicity done perfectly. Filled with our Grade One smoked salmon and chives cream cheese, they’re brilliant as part of a weekend brunch, picnic or even to take to the office to brighten up the day.
